 C. Jim Taylor was born on January 10, 1934, in Navasota, Texas, in Grimes County. 

C. Jim Taylor was raised by his loving parents, Elijah Taylor and Perline Menifee-Taylor. He was the oldest of their four children. He was married to the love of his life, Essie Lee Taylor, for over 63 years. 

C. Jim Taylor was employed as a truck driver for many years; however, his true passion was landscaping. In his leisure time, he enjoyed listening to a variety of music and playing his guitar. 

C. Jim Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Elijah Taylor; his mother, Perline Menifee-Taylor; his wife Essie Lee Taylor, his sons, Kenneth Taylor, Ray Taylor, and Charles Hennigan; his sister, Lizzie Mae Rush; his brothers, Bubba Taylor and Sunny Taylor; his grandson, Justin Emanuel; and his great-granddaughter, Autumn Blackshire. 

C. Jim Taylor leaves many loved ones to cherish his memory, including his two daughters, Joyce Taylor and Cynthia Emanuel (Rickey); his grandchildren, Tunesha Blackshire (Rev. Blackshire), Clifton Stell Jr., Rickie Emanuel Jr., and Chad Emanuel; and a host of greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
