Jack Wendell Reeves
January 15, 1935 to September 23, 2026
Jack Wendell Reeves, 91, of Houston, passed away peacefully September 23, 2026, with his family by his side after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born to the late Edith Mary Jones and Jacob Roy Reeves on January 15, 1935, in Conway, Arkansas.
Jack attended the University of Texas and proudly served six years in the Air National Guard Reserve. He later made Houston his home, where he married Anna Spiller and together they raised their five
children.
Jack spent many years working at Valco Instruments, where he formed many lasting friendships. Those friendships meant a great deal to him, and many of those friends remained close to Jack and stayed in touch with him throughout the years.
Jack was a sweet and gentle soul who had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a cherished friend to all who knew him. He
was also a second father to many of his children's friends, who loved and adored him as though he were their own dad. His kindness, easygoing nature, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jack had a wonderful sense of fun and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid poker player and loved playing both online and around the table with his friends. He also had a special love for his dogs and could often be found singing to them—a sweet and memorable part of who he was.
Jack is survived by his son, Jack Reeves, Jr.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Margaret Reeves, Claire Reimers, Suzy Parfrey and husband Kap, and Hope Allday and husband Richard; and nine
grandchildren, Forrest Reeves, Max, Will and Forrestt Allday, Conner, Reagan and Jake Reimers, and Noah and Annika Parfrey.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who were lucky enough to call him Dad, Grandpa, or simply friend. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and unconditional love will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 16, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, TX 77070, followed by a reception at the Community Center at the church.
