Nora Ukonu was born in 1960 into the loving family of Sir Livinus and Lady Dorothy Opara of Ngajire family in Owalla Avuvu, in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria. She was the youngest of her siblings. She was survived by her daughter Sandra Ukonu, Sir Dr. & Mrs Anselm Opara, Chief Dr. Mrs Margaret Opara Ike & Chief Dr. Paschal Ike. She was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Nora was married to Mr. Lawrence Ukonu of blessed memory and their marriage was blessed with their daughter Sandra.

She was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Nora was married to Mr. Lawrence Ukonu of blessed memory and their marriage was blessed with their daughter Sandra. From an early age, she displayed a strong commitment to learning and personal growth. She began her educational journey in primary school, continued to secondary school and later attended University where she further developed her knowledge and skills. Her passion for education led her into the teaching profession, where she devoted the early years of her life in nurturing and educating young minds. As a Teacher, Nora was known for her dedication, patience and genuine care for her students. She inspired many, through her hard work and commitment to excellence, leaving a lasting impact on those she taught and worked with. 

From an early age, she displayed a strong commitment to learning and personal growth. She began her educational journey in primary school, continued to secondary school and later attended University where she further developed her knowledge and skills. Beyond her professional life, Nora was a caring and loving mother and sister. She was a cherished friend and a source of guidance and encouragement to many. Her wisdom and compassionate nature endeared her to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sir Livinus O. Opara, KSM and Lady Dorothy Ekechukwu Opara, LSM. Her life was marked by service and integrity. She will always be remembered with deep affection, gratitude and respect. 

 May her memory continue to be a blessing to our family, friends and well wishers. Thank you all immensely, for coming to bid our dear Nora Ukonu a warm farewell. Thank you all for your prayers, love and support during this time of difficulty. As you journey back to your respective destinations, may our good Lord grant you all journey mercies.
