Craig Andrew Slein, 70, of Houston, TX, passed away July 3, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1956, in Joliet, Illinois, to Mitchell and Sally Slein and grew up in Morton Grove, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his son-in-law Gary Cox.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jamie Lu Slein, his two step-daughters Robyn Briggs (Bette Regan) of Oakland, CA, and Staci Cox of Cincinnati, OH; two grandsons Garrett (Amanda) Cox of Charlotte, NC & Gavin Cox of Cincinnati, OH; his sister Tracy and brother Scott.

Craig received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and then pursued graduate studies at the University of Illinois in Technical Theatre where he met Jamie. They later relocated to Houston, TX, where he worked as Technology Coordinator at St. Thomas High School and owned an IT Support business.

Craig was devoted to his dogs Nikki, Lulu and Sammy and loved everything Chicago including the Cubs, Lou Malnati’s pizza and Italian beef.  He was also a huge fan of Star Trek and musical theatre.

At Craig’s request, there will be no services.
