Stella Nwanyioma Anusi
December 07, 1958 to January 31, 2026
Stella Nwanyioma Anusi was born on December 7, 1958, to the family of the late Group Captain Monday Onwubualili Ikpeazu and Mrs. Adeline Uzonwa Ikpeazu of Amapuife Village, Umunnairilabuo Autonomous Community in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. She was the second of six children.
From an early age, Stella showed a passion for growth, learning, and service. She began her education at All Saints Primary School in Enugu and continued at Queens Girls Secondary School, also in Enugu State. In 1981, she made the courageous decision to move to the United States in search of greater opportunities. This was a journey that would shape not only her life, but the lives of so many others.
Her pursuit of knowledge was relentless. She attended Texas Southern University. She went on to earn her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification from Alvin Community College and later obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Wharton County Community College. Never one to settle, Stella continued to strive for excellence, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2016, ultimately becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Even after more than 20 years in her field, she remained committed to growth.
Stella had a distinguished and impactful career in healthcare. She worked in several respected institutions, including Memorial Hermann, Kindred, Select Specialty Hospital, Intracare Psychiatric Hospital, DaVita Dialysis, and Texas Women’s Hospital. She also served as a traveling Nurse Practitioner, bringing care and comfort to countless patients.
Throughout her career, Stella took on increasing responsibilities, serving not only as a nurse, but as a leader. Holding roles such as Charge Nurse, Unit Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator. Yet, despite her accomplishments, she would often say that her greatest joy came from her patients, their stories, their resilience, and the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
In 2008, Stella took a bold step of faith and founded her own home healthcare company, Anis Healthcare Services. Through this work, she was able to combine her clinical expertise with her deep compassion for people, providing not just quality care, but genuine love and dignity to those she served.
Stella was married to the love of her life, the late Osita Anusi Sr., for 35 years. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership. After the passing of her husband in March 2020, she continued to carry his legacy with From their union, they were blessed with one son, Osita Anusi Jr, a son she loved deeply, supported endlessly, and was incredibly proud of. Today, it is with a heavy heart that I stand here to honor and lay my mother to rest.
Above all, Stella was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She was a devoted child of God who walked closely with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She worshipped faithfully with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and lived her life guided by her beliefs, demonstrating kindness, humility, and compassion in all she did.
Stella’s generosity knew no bounds. She had a giving spirit that required neither recognition nor reward. She supported orphans through education, built homes for widows in Nigeria, and provided for the elderly, the poor, and the less privileged. She gave freely, out of love, out of faith, and out of a genuine desire to uplift others.
She was kind to a fault, generous beyond measure, and full of life. She loved laughter, cherished her family and friends, and brought light into every room she entered. Her inner beauty was only matched by her outward grace. She was, truly, a shining star.
