Patrick J. Young
June 07, 1945 to October 07, 2025
Bro. Young, a devoted servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, entered his eternal rest on October 7 th , 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 7 th , 1945, in Winnsboro, TX, Bro. Young lived a life wholly dedicated to the Apostolic message — the Oneness of God, repentance, baptism in Jesus’ Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
A proud graduate of Texas Bible College, Class of 1970, he devoted his life to preaching and teaching the truth of God’s Word. For 50 years, he faithfully served as an evangelist, an associate pastor for 14 years, and pastor of The Apostolic Church of Pasadena for 28 years. He shepherded and touched countless lives through his ministry. After retiring from The Apostolic Church of Pasadena, he continued his ministry working out of First Apostolic Church of Highlands. He was a man of unwavering faith, a prayer warrior, and a true example of holiness inside and out. Bro. Young was known for his passionate worship and unashamed love for the presence of God. Those who knew him will remember his anointed preaching, his compassionate spirit, and his deep love for preachers and the Bride of Christ. He was a man of many hats—dedicated to both his secular work and his spiritual calling. For 37 years, he worked faithfully at Rex Tool Supply, in addition to his ministry at The Apostolic Church of Pasadena. His love for music was evident in his guitar playing and singing; his signature song being “He Touched Me.” A lifelong learner and a student of history, he was an avid reader who devoted countless hours to study and reflection, faithfully reading through the Bible each year.
He loved the outdoors, especially the Hill Country where he grew up. Trips to Kerrville along with camping and fishing were pastimes shared with his kids, and he later enjoyed hunting with his eldest son in East Texas and Mountain Home. After retiring, time spent with his grandbabies was one of his greatest joys, and he treasured every moment. Among his many hobbies, gardening stood out—his flower beds flourished under his care, with vibrant hydrangeas and a towering bougainvillea as examples of his green thumb.
Bro. Young is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Young; his children, Timothy Young, Aimee Young, Chris Young and wife Jenni, and Alan Young and wife Stacie; grandchildren, Andrew Vargas and wife Pauline, Lauren Lothe and husband Eric, Ryan Whitmire and wife Lauren, Kaitlyn Young, and McKenna Young; Great grandchildren, Kole Vargas and Gavin Lothe; and a host of family, church family, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father Pete Clifford Young, Mother Cleta Lockett Young, and brother Pete Clifford Young. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing he has received his reward and heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith, truth, and love for the Apostolic message will live on in every life he touched.
