James Edward “Jim” Spruill

October 11, 1942 to September 16, 2025

James Edward “Jim” Spruill, 82, of Houston, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and

Savior on September 16, 2025.

Born on October 11, 1942, in Houston, Texas, to Ambra Elizabeth Farmer and Andrew

Jackson Spruill, Jim lived a full life anchored in faith, family, and hard work. He devoted

nearly 30 years to Shell Oil, earning the respect of all who knew him for his dedication

and integrity.

A true cowboy at heart, Jim loved motorcycles, fishing, and rodeo life in his younger

years. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making others feel seen and valued.

His warmth, humor, and love for storytelling reflected his deep love for people — and for

the Lord.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda M. DeSantis Spruill; his children,

stepchildren, and their spouses; and many cherished grandchildren and great-

grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Spruill.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the Sanctuary of Clear Creek Community

Church, 999 FM 270, League City, TX 77573 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Nov 1, 2025.

Light refreshments to follow in the lobby of the church.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with

wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

We loved Jim, he was a great friend, remembering all the times we would visit on our front porch, riding motorcycles together, eating out. He was so outgoing, never met a stranger, kind, and considerate. Linda and he made such a great couple, Linda is my special friend, my love, and condolences to her.

Jim was a one-of-a-kind special friend. We rode motorcycles, traveled Colorado in our 36’ trailers. We loved our times together with him and his precious wife Linda. We so enjoyed our time together as couples. Lots of wonderful memories of a precious friend.
