Carol Bentley Corbin

November 20, 1950 to August 18, 2025

The world lost a spark of color on August 18, 2025, when Carol Bentley Corbin passed away.

Born on November 20, 1950, in Lincolnton, Georgia, Carol spent her early years surrounded by family there, and the place always remained close to her heart. A true Georgia Bulldog fan, she carried that love with her even after moving away as a child.

Carol lived life in her own shade of purple. From the streaks in her hair to the car she drove, she made sure the world knew her favorite color. She had a gift for needlepoint unlike any other, traveling the globe for seminars, supplies, and inspiration. With each stitch, she wove together art, history, and her boundless creativity.

Though she never had children, Carol poured her love into her family, her dogs, her friends, and her many passions. She could discuss paintings, books, history, or music with equal passion, and those conversations always left both of you laughing and learning.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Kathy, and a chosen family of dear friends-Denese, Jeff, Beverly, Bill, Terry, and Benny-who shared in her adventures and kept her laughing throughout her life. She is survived by her nieces, Amanda and Laura, and their spouses, Matt and Chris, as well as their children: Brooks, Carter, Maddy Kate, Molly, Rhett, Paige, Tessa, and Halle. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jo and Harold, and her brother-in-law, Jesse.

Carol would not want us to mourn in gray tones, but to celebrate in bold, joyful colors sprinkled with fairy dust. In her memory, stitch something by hand, learn something new, or pet a dog. And if you really want to honor her, wear purple while you do it.

If you wish, donations can be made in her memory to Paws for Heroes, 7941 Katy Freeway #175, Houston, TX 77024.
