Dr. Virs. Iieoma Christiana Alay (nee Onwusoch)

Dr. Virs. Iieoma Christiana Alay (nee Onwusoch) was born on January 20, 1965. She was the first child of Okorie Nkwere and Nnenna Elizabeth Onwusogh family, both of blessed
memory, of Ndi Isika, Eluisegbu Amankalu Igbere, Bende L.G.A., Abia State.
Iieoma was also the first grandchild of the esteemed Udeogu lamily of Okatia Ancient Kingdom in Igbere. Fondly known as "Big Sister (IJ)." she was raised in Enugu, Aba, and Eterri
She began her primary education at Golf Course Primary School. Aba. and attended Ovom Girls Secondary School. Aba. before combicting her secondary education at Federal Government Girls College, Owerri, Imo State. She went on to earn her fi r s tdegree in English Language from the University of Nigcria. sukka. Alter complcting her National Youth Service CorDS (NYSC) in 1989. she pursued a Master's degrec in Political Science at Abia State Universitv.
Following her marriage to Daniel Alavi whom she met in Isracl they were blessedwith a son, Daniel Kolawale Chidera Ajayi (Junior), in 1997. In 2003, the family relocated to the United States to begin a new chapter. There. licoma returned to school to study nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Houston. Her dedication and excellence led her to become both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psvchiatric Nurse Practitioner She carned her Master's deercc from Marville University in St. Louis. Missouri. and went on to pursue a Ph.D.
Big Sister was a gift to her family and to everyone who knew her. Her generosity and compasSion knew no bounds she would often go out of her way to help others. even at personal cost. She was widely known for her philanthropy and peace-loving nature, always willing to make sacritices to restore harmonv.
Her legacy of kindness and service lives on through the many lives she touched. She
sponsored numerous individuals ni their academic pursuits and supported many families ni Nigeria and beyond in many notable ways. A respected community leader, she was a prominent member of the Ohabuike Ebiri 2 Age Grade in Igbere
she will be deeply missed. A beacon of hope to many. her memory remains etched in the hearts of those she uplifted.
In February 2025, she was diagnosed with an illness and fought valiantly like a warrior. But God, in His infinite wisdom, called her home. We take comfort in the hope that on the resurrection morning. we shall meet again. never to vart. W e love vou but Jesus loves vou so
