Philip Eustace Hendrickson
January 14, 1952 to July 13, 2025
Philip Eustace Hendrickson died on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at his home in Houston, Texas at the age of 73.
Eustace was born January 14, 1952 in St Kits & Nevis to Ethline and David Hendrickson.
He was one of five children and their only son. Eustace began his career at Cable & Wireless as a teenager and rose to a managerial role during his 20-year career there. His career with Cable & Wireless allowed him to enjoy his three passions; cricket, socializing. and traveling. He frequently traveled across the Caribbean promoting Cable & Wireless products, while also enjoying unlimited access to cricket matches.
Eustace always wanted to be remembered as a Kittitian and a family man. He married his first love, Rupertha Ellena Hendrickson, on June 16, 1984. Together, they shared over 40 years of marriage and raised five children. After what seemed like a lifetime in St.Kitts, they decided to move to Houston. Texas in the earty 2000s to provide better opportunities for their children. Although Eustace had established a career in the Caribbean, he had to start from scratch in America. He did whatever it took to support his family-selling security systems at ADT, pushing wheelchairs at the airport, working as a security guard, and eventually becoming a supervisor at UPS. No job was beneath him when it came to providing for the ones he loved.
Eventually, he made a second career at UPS, where he worked for over 20 years. Although he left St.Kitts, it was clear St.Kitts didnt leave him. He loved reminiscing of his younger years touring and working with Ellie Matt & the G Is Brass. Anyone who caught a glimpse of him would always find him listening to news from St.Kitts, watching a cricket match, or chatting with friends from back home. He continued to support St.Kitts with music festivals or other engagements. Whenever he could, Eustace would try to make it back home for as many New Year Carnivals as he could.
As he got older, family, God, and prayer took greater importance. He found balance, joy. and happiness in life. He would spend these years watching all his children grow into adulthood. He lovingly encouraged them to pursue college and stood by their side, supporting each of them on their unique pains. He loved Politics: St. Kitts or American. He loved spending time with family, laughing, talking on the phone, listening to soca, listening to calypso around Christmas, and socializing with friends. He loved decorating the house for Christmas and putting the lights on the Christmas tree. He even found a soft spot for his new companion; a dog named Panda. Regardless of the situation, he always wore a smile on his face.
Eustace is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Rupertha Hendrickson; five children-Deslyn, Khemraj, Kenville, Shemell, and Renel Hendrickson; three grandchildren-Amara, Amina, and Guyosun Hendrickson: two sisters, Yvonne and Christina Hendrickson; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
