David Allen Sawyer

September 27, 1956 to December 14, 2024


David Allen Sawyer, a beloved Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Great-Uncle
and Friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the age o f 68.
David's broad smile and laughter drew us all in with its warmth and his loving everything about living his best life. David is survived by his cherished Mother, Mary Pitre Sawyer, he affectionately called Ma, and his sisters, Betty Sawyer
Overall (her husband, Wayne Overall), Carol Sawyer Reynolds and his brother
Mark Sawyer (his wife, Andrea Sawyer) along with his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
David grew up in Houston, joining Chapelwood Methodist Church, December 12, 1971. An honor becoming a Camp Champions Torchlighter and LTM, Philmont Scout Ranch Camp NM, earning his Eagle Scout March 31, 1971 and becoming the top selling Christmas Greenery Scout for BSA Houston area until his record was surpassed (shared by Lewis Mattingly upon his retirement from MDPC's
Rainmakers Boy Scout Troop 642) in the 1980's, his days at BHE, SBMS and Memorial High School '75, golfing, sailing on Lake Travis, in Hawaii and more!
Fulfilling his dreams, UT at Austin, joining the Sigma Nu Fraternity, becoming their Treasurer, graduating from The University o f Texas at Austin, McCombs
School ofBusiness, BBA in Marketing, TexEx Lifetime Member '85, following his passion and heart, working for Dresser Industries, Rio Airways, American
Airlines, Continental Airlines, Inwood Travel, Upchurch Travel, Atlas Powder Company before starting his own successful business, Flyer's Choice and playing golf on his bucket list of dream courses.
David never met a stranger who didn't become his friend! He collected friends and held onto them like treasured jewels, loved sports especially Golf, Baseball, the
Astros and living his glass half full life to the fullest, always with God by his side!
