Eva Ruth Dillingham

Eva Ruth Dillingham (also known as Ruth Belew Dillingham and Eva Ruth Belew Dillingham) passed away in Katy, Texas the morning of January 1st, 2025. She is survived by two sons, Dan and Matt, along with two granddaughters Jessica and Eleanor. Eva Ruth, daughter of Tandy Brown Belew and Velma Rhine, was born on December 15, 1935 in Vernon (Wilbarger County), Texas. The youngest of five siblings, she grew up on the family farm surrounded by a loving family. As a young lady, she was considered a beautiful and popular member of this rural community. Eva Ruth graduated from Baylor University with the qualifications and aspirations to teach young children, a career which she excelled at in the beginning and the later stages of her life. She was married to Dale Dillingham from 1960 until 1988, raising two sons in suburban Houston. A follower of Jesus Christ, she and her family were members of Tallowood Baptist Church. From the 1980s, Eva Ruth was a highly respected (4th grade) school teacher in Katy Texas, giving joy and inspiration to her students and to her peers. From both, she received much deserved recognition, most importantly their lifelong respect and gratitude. She was a loving mother, teacher, and the kindest person one could know. Her sense of humour and enthusiasm will be missed by all knew her. In accordance with her wishes, burial will be at Eastview Memorial Park in Vernon, Texas where her parents and other family members are buried. Special thanks to those friends who were by her side and supported her in the final months, particularly Pat Ulmer, Margaret Woodworth, and Tina Miller-seaman.
