Sharon Olivia Theragood Nealey

Sharon Olivia Theragood Nealey was born November 30, 1956 in east Texas in Polk County.
From infancy, she was raised by her grandmother LueBirdia Theragood in Onalaska, TX. before moving as a young child to Houston with her parents Helen Theragood Woodard and Raleigh Woodard. She was the oldest of their six children.
At a young age, she was baptized at Houston's Fourth Missionary Baptist Church.
Sharon attended Turner Elementary, Ryan Middle and Jack Yates High School in Houston's Third Ward. She married her high school sweetheart Don H. Nealey.
Sharon worked as an assistant home health provider but her passion was cooking. She worked alongside her mother at Woodard's Catering, taking joy in preparing food and feeding people - a gift passed down by her mother and grandmother.
As an adult, Sharon rededicated her life to Christ with great enthusiasm and devotion, finding a beloved spiritual family at New Fisher's Church where she served and ushered for the Lord faithfully for years.
Sharon leaves many loved ones to cherish her memory: two daughters Dremica Nealey and Tamela Nealey (Monte); eight grandchildren - Tyrica Nealey Williams Normand (Jaye), Kelvin Joshua Jr., Donald Nealey, Christopher Boggess, Jeron Joseph Jr., Jeremy Lusk, Justin Lusk, and JaKobi Fletcher; 12 great grandchildren; three siblings and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; plus scores of nieces, nephews, cousins, "adopted" children and grandchildren, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her mother Helen, her father Raleigh, her son Donald "Donnie" Nealey, her brothers Dwayne Woodard, Reginald Woodard and Craig Woodard, and her grea grandson Zion Boggess.
