Viola Narvaez Lopez

Viola Narvaez Lopez entered eternal rest in Houston, TX, on December 14, 2024, at the age of 79.
Viola was born on September 2, 1945, in Falfurrias, TX. Viola was in the Falfurrias High School
graduating class of 1964. In 1966, married the love of her life and soulmate, Daniel F. Lopez while
attending Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX, and graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of
Science in Nursing degree.
After graduation, Viola made Houston home to work as an RN for Methodist, Memorial Hermann,
and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital Transplant Floor retiring from the hospital in 2007. Not able to sit
still, Viola became a Director of Nursing in Hospice until fully retiring from over 40 years of nursing
in 2012 to care for her husband and enjoy Kaine’s activities.
Viola loved spending time with family and friends. Everyone was family to Viola. Viola always said
family is not always by “blood”.
She loved to talk, laugh, read, play the slots, and talk. Her love and pride for her kids and
grandchildren is immeasurable. Her favorite thing to do is anything with her kids and/or grandkids,
she will make sure she was there. Viola took an active part, mainly volunteering her nursing skills
and transporting for sporting activities at Westbury Christian School in the 80’s when Danny and
Michele attended. Once again at WCS, volunteering time for HOSA events, attending football,
baseball, soccer games, and theatre productions when Kaine attended and graduated in 2019.
In the past few years, she loved spending time with Kaine and Diamond talking, listening, watching
movies, sitting on the lanai, etc.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Narvaez and Dominga Perez Narvaez, and her
husband of 50 years, Daniel F. Lopez.
Viola is survived by her son Daniel F. Lopez, Jr, and his wife Monica of Huntsville, TX. Her daughters
Michele Lopez and Tamarah Sereni of Houston, Tx; her grandchildren, Kaine A. Lopez, Alessandro
Sereni, Eric Glenn, Ricky Guerrero, Olivia Diaz, and Erika Broussard. She will be missed by her
sisters, Belinda Lopez, and Bessie Barina of Houston, TX, her nephews, Troy Narvaez, David F.
Lopez, Jr, and Leonel Lopez, Jr, and her niece Susana Brooks and many great-nephews and nieces.
