J. Todd Stewart

March 12, 1960 to January 09, 2024

J. Todd Stewart, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Todd was born on March 12, 1960, in McAllen, Texas and was the fourth born to Charles Howard Stewart and Betty Jean Schrock.

The family moved to Houston in 1973 where Todd grew up and attended Spring Branch schools. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1979 and played on the “State in ’78” championship football team.  He then went on to play football at Southern Methodist University and was an active member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Upon graduation, Todd returned to Houston and began his career in the real estate industry. Todd had more than 30 years of experience between CBRE, HFF, JLL, and Colliers International representing pension funds, REITs, insurance companies and banks in multifamily sales transactions. Over his career, he negotiated approximately 500 multifamily transactions, totaling 150,000 units, and more than $10 billion in aggregate value. He was recognized for numerous awards including: CRE Heavy Hitter by the Houston Business Journal, a Directors Award Recipient, and a top-ranking multi-housing salesperson both regionally and nationally.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (better known as Go Go), son, uncle, and friend who enjoyed life to the fullest.  He loved anything that included family. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, snow skiing, boating, playing cards or dominos, listening to music, Houston sports, movies, storytelling, golfing, water skiing, fantasy football and a thousand other things.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Hayley of 29 years; daughter and son-in-law, Sidney and Chris Haro; son, Jay Todd; daughter, Annie; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Linda Stewart; sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Jerry Nicholson; granddaughters, Georgia and Charlotte Haro; former spouse, Lisa McCord, as well as numerous nieces and nephews all of which will miss him dearly.
