Jarvis “Denny” Fisher

May 29, 1935 to April 17, 2023

Denny Fisher was born in Salsberry, North Carolina on  May 29, 1935. He came to Texas with his mother, Rachel Fisher and his brother, Carl Fisher when he was around the age of 8.

Denny joined the Navy when he was 17 where he served on the Air Craft Carrier, USS Franklin D. Roosevelt-CVA 42 for just over three years.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 3 1/2 years after which he      received an Honorable discharged. Denny met and married Carol  Marie Hulsey.  Denny and Carol remained in the Houston Metropolitan area where Denny joined the Houston Fire Department and served for almost forty-three years. Denny loved his years in the Houston Fire Department and often spoke fondly of his adventures in the Fire Department and his time in the Navy.  Denny was one who never met a stranger.  He loved his family and friends and was blessed to have both close to him for most all of his days.  Denny LOVED life.  He and Carol have lived in the home that he built in  Magnolia, Texas for the last twenty-two years.  Denny went Home to be with Jesus on April 17th, 2023, at 10:45 PM.

Denny is survived by Carol, his wife of 66 years; his sons and their wives, Ronny and Lori Fisher and Randy and Lisa Fisher; his daughters, Carolyne Riggs, Denise Fisher-Singh and husband, Gurdeep “Nikk” Singh. Denny is also survived by grandchildren, Molly and Todd Hargis, Raylyn and Chris Hill, Rachel and Agustin Torres, Heather Fisher, Amanda Schultz, Bradley and Rhea Fisher, Emily and Conner Canaan, Faith Fisher, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Denny was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Willie and Rachel Deicke; his son, Craig Fisher and grandson, Johnathon Fisher.  He has already given each of them a really BIG hug and, for pretty sure, a great BIG kiss.
